Rope Circle's Code of Conduct

  SAFETY RULES BETWEEN STUDENTS

  • Students please take care to always negotiate your interactions and boundaries, and exercise good judgment

  • Consent is sexy, always ask before touching and again negotiate before tying

  • Rope bondage can be a dangerous activity, please be aware of both the physical & emotional risk

  • Always respect someones No or SAFE-WORD

  • Bottoms, please DO NOT suffer silently, speak your truth. ALWAYS feel free communicate before, during and after a scene. You are your riggers greatest teacher and guide

  • Riggers, please be able to listen to your bottoms during all part of rope class or session, this is as much a part of the art of Shibari /Kinbaku as is the technical knowledge

  • Treat your fellow students with respect, both inside and outside the training area

  • Please consider a moment of  "After Care" for your partner at the end of a rope session, this means taking a little time to sit and  check in with them about the experience.

GENERAL STUDIO RULES & SAFETY

  • Please leave your ego at the door, we are here to share and learn together

  • Students are expected to show up on time and prepared for class. If arriving late, join in quietly without disturbing others

  • Always listen, follow and stay aware of the safety advice of the rope circle instructor

  • Keep your practice area organized and tidy  and work together to help clean the space after class in a timely matter

  • No smoking, no food, no alcohol in the mat area where you are tying (water bottles with lids are ok)

  • No drugs or  drinking of alcohol prior to rope sessions

  • No switching between rigger and partner bottoming during the  class

  • No outdoors footwear on practice mats or training area

  • Students who are attending Rope Circle classes will be asked NOT to take any photos unless the instructor has been informed and granted permission.

  • If you have been granted permission to take photos, please make sure all students in the background have given their consent, or DON'T take the photo at all.

  • Riggers are responsible for the safety and condition of their ropes. Make sure that your up-lines are suspension worthy. Always make sure that carabiners/shackles are securely closed

  • Please be considerate and wipe your mats down after each use. (cleaning supplies we be supplied and labeled)

If the rules are not respected or broken, you will be asked to leave the class or banned from the school.
